Funding details (2025–2026 academic year):
- For Master’s students studying under a state educational grant, funding in a specified amount is allocated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- For Master’s students studying on a tuition (fee-paying) basis, extra-budgetary funds of the university are allocated.
Upon completion of the research internship, Master’s students must submit an advance report to the Department of Economics and Finance based on the allocated funds.

Important note: Master’s students studying on a tuition basis must not have any outstanding tuition fee debts.
assignment Regulations for Arranging the Mandatory Research Internship for Master’s Students
- A Master’s student may independently choose a university or enterprise for completing the research internship.
- A Master’s student planning to undertake a research internship abroad must contact the Center for International Cooperation (Office 155b), while a Master’s student planning to complete the internship within the Republic of Kazakhstan must contact the Department of Research Activities (Office 236).
- The department responsible for overseeing research internships sends an official letter to the host university requesting acceptance of the Master’s student(s). If the internship is to be completed at an enterprise, the student must independently arrange for the signing of a standard bilateral agreement between our university and the host organization.
- The host organization sends an official invitation letter for the Master’s student(s).
- The department responsible for overseeing research internships provides the following document templates to the Master’s students:
- An application addressed to the Rector — handwritten, one copy;
- A research internship program — 2 copies (all required signatures indicated in the template must be obtained).
- Based on the applications, agreements, or official memoranda, the responsible department issues an official order for business travel and prepares travel authorization documents.
- During the research internship, Master’s students must keep all tickets, boarding passes, and fiscal receipts.
- Upon completion of the internship, Master’s students prepare an advance financial report based on all tickets, boarding passes, and fiscal receipts. This report must be submitted to the Department of Economics and Finance.

- For doctoral students studying under a state educational grant, funding in a specified amount is allocated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- For doctoral students studying on a tuition (fee-paying) basis, extra-budgetary funds of the university are allocated.

assignment Regulations for Arranging the Mandatory Research Internship for Doctoral Students
- The doctoral student must independently select a university and contact either the international office or the academic supervisor of the chosen university. It is advisable to select the university based on the location of the foreign research consultant.
- The host university must issue an official invitation letter specifying the internship period and the doctoral student’s details (full name, educational program, year of study, etc.).
- The doctoral student must visit Office 115b (Center for International Cooperation) and submit the invitation letter.
- The Center for International Cooperation (CIC) provides templates for the following documents:
- An application addressed to the Rector — handwritten, one copy;
- A research internship program — 2 copies (all required signatures indicated in the template must be obtained).
- The doctoral student prepares these documents and submits them with all required signatures to the CIC.
- The CIC registers the application with the University Administration Office.
- Based on the application, the CIC initiates the official business travel order and prepares the travel authorization document.
- At the same time, the doctoral student must independently apply for a visa.
- During the research internship, the doctoral student must keep all tickets, boarding passes, and fiscal receipts.
- Upon completion of the internship, the doctoral student prepares an advance financial report based on all tickets, boarding passes, and fiscal receipts. This report must be submitted to the Department of Economics and Finance.
