We are pleased to announce an international funding opportunity — the Thrive Seed Grant, designed to support new, small-scale organizations, individual changemakers, and innovative projects working toward just and sustainable plant-based food systems.

💰 Grant Amount

The Thrive Seed Grant provides funding of up to $5,000 USD.

👥 Who Can Apply?

The Seed Grant is suitable for:

  • New or small-scale organizations

  • Individuals without nonprofit status

  • One-time projects

  • Conference sponsorships

  • Participants of the Thrive Africa Accelerator

Please note:

  • Only applicants outside the United States are eligible.

  • U.S.-based organizations and international chapters of U.S. organizations are not eligible.

  • Organizations may typically receive only one grant per year.

  • For-profit companies (including restaurants and other businesses) are not eligible.

  • Priority is currently given to organizations with an annual budget under $500,000 USD.

🎯 Priority Focus Areas

Thrive Philanthropy prioritizes proposals that:

  • Promote equitable and just plant-based food systems

  • Aim to reduce global consumption of animals

  • Work to reduce industrial animal agriculture

  • Focus on vegan advocacy

  • Are led by or meaningfully involve women, people of colour, and other marginalized communities

  • Align with Thrive Philanthropy’s Safe Space Policy

  • Demonstrate a positive reputation within their community

❌ Not Eligible for Funding

The following are not supported:

  • Cellular agriculture initiatives

  • Animal farming or other animal use

  • Farmed animal welfare campaigns

  • Projects using animal products (animal-based food, leather, etc.)

  • Food banks, meal distributions, or hunger-relief programs

  • Projects supporting or neutral toward exploitation of animals or humans

  • Military or police support initiatives

  • Political parties or candidate endorsements

  • Tuition, student research, or university fees

  • Work conducted within the United States

  • Chapters of larger international organizations

📅 Application Deadlines

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM GMT on:

  • March 1

  • June 1

  • September 1

  • December 1

Applicants will receive a response within up to 8 weeks after the deadline.
