We are pleased to inform you about an international funding opportunity — the Thrive Grant, designed to support impactful organizations working toward just and sustainable plant-based food systems.

🌍 Eligibility

The grant is intended for mid-size or larger organizations with a proven track record of success. Please note:

  • Only organizations outside the United States are eligible.

  • International chapters of U.S.-based organizations are not eligible.

  • Applicants must be non-profit organizations (for-profit companies, including restaurants or businesses, are not eligible).

  • Organizations may typically receive only one grant per year.

  • Preference is currently given to organizations with an annual budget under $500,000 USD.

  • Individuals should apply for the Seed Grant, not the Thrive Grant.

🎯 Priority Areas

Thrive Philanthropy prioritizes proposals that:

  • Promote equitable and just plant-based food systems

  • Aim to reduce the consumption of animals

  • Work to reduce industrial animal agriculture

  • Focus on vegan advocacy

  • Meaningfully involve or are led by women, people of colour, and other marginalized communities

  • Align with Thrive Philanthropy’s Safe Space Policy

  • Demonstrate a strong, positive reputation within their community

❌ Not Eligible

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Projects involving animal farming or animal use

  • Farmed animal welfare campaigns

  • Projects using animal products (animal-based food, leather, etc.)

  • Cellular agriculture initiatives

  • Food banks, meal distributions, or hunger-relief programs

  • Political parties or candidate endorsements

  • Military or police support initiatives

  • Tuition, student research, or university fees

  • Work conducted within the United States

  • Chapters of large international organizations

  • Projects that support or are neutral toward the exploitation of animals (including humans)

📅 Deadlines

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM GMT on:

  • March 1

  • June 1

  • September 1

  • December 1

Applicants can expect a response within up to 8 weeks after the deadline.
